Step 1: Eligibility and application

What do you need to apply?

This application will take about 5-10 minutes to complete.

This application uses secure technology in order to help the security of your application, the application will become inactive if not used for 15 minutes.

We strongly recommend that you disable any pop-up blocking software before using this application as they can affect its functionality. We recommend that you use the back and continue buttons found at the bottom of each page to move through the application rather than your normal browser buttons.

To be able to view, print or save important documents you will need Adobe Reader. If you do not have Adobe Reader you can download it here for free:

You will need the following information:

  • your postal address
  • your telephone numbers
  • your email address
  • the details of the bank accounts that you will be using for withdrawals

Eligibility requirements

To apply for a Post Office® Instant Saver account, you will need to satisfy the following requirements. You can apply if you:

  • are 16 years old or over
  • are a resident of the UK
  • have a minimum of £500 to deposit ?

If you are under 16 years old and you wish to apply, you will need to go into a Post Office® branch and complete a paper application. Alternatively you can call us on 0800 169 7500 and we can arrange for a pack to be sent to you.
